6:29 pm
i have a bit of work to do this evening so i went to the office. i stopped by starbucks for a large house coffee and then went to the bluffs for pictures. i love the colors of dusk.
i spent the day tidying and cleaning. i did three loads of laundry and handwashed a wool sweater, the one with the peculiar odor that i can't seem to get rid of. this is one of my most favorite sweaters; it's a simple charcoal gray and the fit is very flattering. if i didn't like it so much i would have thrown it away a long time ago. i let it soak in the detergent for a good while. i can only hope that this will cure it of the odor.
i woke up with a sore throat. my nose was runny before i went to bed so i expected to wake up sick. but after drinking a couple of 25 ounce bottles of water, i felt better. i had no appetite so i didn't eat until 1 pm. i was fine with having just coffee for breakfast.
around three i took an hour long nap. i must not have fallen asleep completely because i can remember hearing an article about ham radio on npr. the phone rang around 4; i got out of bed.
i had blueberry oatmeal for lunch. i got it from trader joe's yesterday, when i also got a bag of flour (to make chocolate chip cookies). when i got home from the store i noticed that the flour bag has a huge gash on the top and the butter was missing. so today, before i left for the office, i went to swap the flour and claimed my butter. the manager didn't seem to care and i was glad. but now that i think about it, he should have apologized for the inconvenience.
i've been spending a lot of time thinking about my effort to write again. i forget how much i enjoy sorting my thoughts. writing isn't easy for me. i like that it requires me to think critically and coherently. so far i've only recounted my daily activities. it's mundane, but it's a good start. eventually i'd like to tell neat stories about experiences i've had. i'd like to write them down before i forget the details.
